45,000 In Catholic Teachers’ Union Prevents WiFi in Schools

The Ontario English Catholic Teacher’s Association, representing 45,000 teachers, says computers in all new schools should be hardwired instead of setting up wireless networks. It also says Wi-Fi should not be installed in any more classrooms.

In a position paper released today, the union – which represents 45,000 teachers – cites research by the World Health Organization.

Last year the global health agency warned about a possible link between radiation from wireless devices such as cellphones and cancer. Some believe wireless access to the Internet could pose similar risks.

School Removes Wifi to Protect Children’s Health

Another school, known for its advanced computer lab, has removed its Wifi, following warnings that the system emits potentially harmful microwave radiation and now hardwires all of its internet connections.

“Schools are in the business of helping children, not hurting them so we shouldn’t be taking chances,” said Principal Brenda Glashan.

Germany: Landlord Shields Renters From Wireless Radiation

In the German city of Erlangen, the owners of a large rental real estate have taken measures to protect tenants against the radiation from mobile telephony and wireless technology.

Switzerland gives free Fiber Optics to Schools – WiFi is OUT

In North America the WiFi base station (and cordless phone base station) transmitters constantly pulse a microwave beacon signal, 10 times per second using 2.4 or 5.8 GHz frequencies. This rapid pulsed frequency is much more biologically harmful to the human body than continuous waves such as used in microwave ovens.

Time to remove WiFi from our schools

The rest of the world is acknowledging the danger of this radiation and other countries are taking steps to protect children by removing WiFi from schools. As those markets dry up overseas, there is a mad rush by industry to get WiFi into schools throughout the U.S.

The result is our children are essentially being sacrificed for corporate profits and we are all being exploited because of our ignorance about the dangers of this completely unnecessary technology. WiFi may be more convenient, but what is the price of convenience?
