Googling a very simple phrase led me to a list of “smart homes” that had done something rather stupid….Their systems had been made crawl-able by search engines….Opening a garage door could make a house ripe for actual physical intrusion….So if you can manage to get on someone’s Wi-Fi network – which is easy if they have no password on it – you could take control of their home.

“These companies are considering the home network as a fortress,” says Crowley. “In most cases, it’s anything but.”

Abstract

A new understanding of the blood-brain barrier as a living, mutable organ may revolutionize the treatment of diseases such …

Infants given iPads as toys = dangerous health risks

The manual warns that if a user does not handle the iPad exactly as instructed, the radiation level will exceed governments' exposure limits. Children are targeted for the marketing of such devices, but the safety warning is buried inside an online manual. Without awareness of the warning, parents let children handle the iPads as below. The iPad is often placed on the children's laps, against their reproductive organs, or in their hands which are touching the antennas. Instead of treating the iPads as radiofrequency transmitters and receivers as declared in the user manual, parents and children treat them as toys.

$8 Billion Invested by Obama on Potentially Dangrous “Smart Grid”

As a multitude of hazardous wireless technologies are deployed in homes, schools and workplaces, government officials and industry representatives continue to insist on their safety despite growing evidence to the contrary. A major health crisis looms that is only hastened through the extensive deployment of "smart grid" technology.
More1 Medical Associations, medical doctors and scientists, many of whom work on the biological effects of wireless technologies, have expressed their concerns about the safety of wireless devices for schools. They are asking for wired information and communication technologies to be used in order to safeguard2 children and young people, protect and promote healthy development and maximize learning and achievement. Cell Phone Report: Children and Pregnant Women Require More Protection

John Wargo, Ph.D., professor of Environmental Risk and Policy at Yale University and lead author of the report, said, “The scientific evidence is sufficiently robust showing that cellular devices pose significant health risks to children and pregnant women." Frequent texting means cell phones are often kept in a pocket all day and under a pillow or on a teenager's bed at night. Exposures to electromagnetic radiation are increasing most rapidly among the youngest in our society, as service providers focus their advertising on children and educational markets.”
Chris Varcoe, president of the Mississauga Fire Fighters Association, expressed concern about plans by the municipality to locate cell towers at City facilities, including fire stations.

"We believe that there are established biological effects from exposure to low-level cell tower radiation," said Varcoe. "Such biological effects may be markers of adverse health effects, similar to biological markers arising from exposure to toxic chemicals. Therefore, we strongly object to placement of cell towers on our fire stations and request that you carefully consider placements for towers on City properties or withhold the decision altogether until the true health effects are known."
