"Sustained exposure to ultraviolet light wavelengths from CFLs increases the risk of two seriously debilitating eye conditions, macular degeneration and cataracts," the professor claims.
Googling a very simple phrase led me to a list of “smart homes” that had done something rather stupid….Their systems had been made crawl-able by search engines….Opening a garage door could make a house ripe for actual physical intrusion….So if you can manage to get on someone’s Wi-Fi network – which is easy if they have no password on it – you could take control of their home. “These companies are considering the home network as a fortress,” says Crowley. “In most cases, it’s anything but.”
In a bid to ease opposition to Pacific Gas and Electric Co. SmartMeters, California regulators voted Wednesday to let the company's customers keep their old analog electricity and gas meters if they choose. The opt-out program approved Wednesday requires PG&E customers to pay a one-time fee of $75, plus monthly charges of $10, to hold on to their old meters. PG&E initially wanted $270 up front and $14 per month. Low-income customers enrolled in the CARE program (California Alternate Rates for Energy) will face an initial fee of $10 and a monthly charge of $5.
The Federal Government's Australian Radiation Protection and Nuclear Safety Agency (ARPANSA) also suggests that baby monitors be kept a metre away from cots, to minimise any electromagnetic emissions. The agency suggests using an old-fashioned wired-in landline phone instead of cordless phones, many of which "are continually transmitting low-level signals''
John Wargo, Ph.D., professor of Environmental Risk and Policy at Yale University and lead author of the report, said, “The scientific evidence is sufficiently robust showing that cellular devices pose significant health risks to children and pregnant women." Frequent texting means cell phones are often kept in a pocket all day and under a pillow or on a teenager's bed at night. Exposures to electromagnetic radiation are increasing most rapidly among the youngest in our society, as service providers focus their advertising on children and educational markets.”
"The pacemaker could misinterpret the cellphone signal as a heartbeat and withhold pacing, producing symptoms such as sudden fatigue. The mobile phone must be kept six inches away from pacemaker site and the patient must talk on the phone from the other ear and not the one close to the site," Dr Jaswal said. The International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) had recently said talking on cellphone could cause a malignant form of brain Cancer classifying radiation emanating from mobile phones alongside gasoline engine exhaust, lead and DDT as "possibly carcinogenic to humans".
The free online book “Smart Meters – Smarter Practices” by Dr. Jamieson (commissioned by the UK EM Radiation Research Trust), comprises 265 pages of research & current knowledge of health & environmental effects from the smart meters.
The rest of the world is acknowledging the danger of this radiation and other countries are taking steps to protect children by removing WiFi from schools. As those markets dry up overseas, there is a mad rush by industry to get WiFi into schools throughout the U.S. The result is our children are essentially being sacrificed for corporate profits and we are all being exploited because of our ignorance about the dangers of this completely unnecessary technology. WiFi may be more convenient, but what is the price of convenience?
In a one-sentence order, the high court invited acting U.S. Solicitor General Neal Kumar Katyal to file a brief expressing the federal government’s views on the suit, which claims Nokia Corp., AT&T Wireless Services Inc. and more than a dozen other defendants ignored research about allegedly harmful radiation in order to be free to mass-produce cellphones without regulatory constraints. His suit named 19 defendants, including Nokia, Motorola Inc., Sprint PCS, Qualcomm Inc., Sony Electronics Inc., AT&T and Verizon Wireless. It also named two trade associations, the Cellular Telecommunications Industry Association and the Telecommunications Industry Association. Farina's case alleged that more than 190 million cellphone users in the United States are regularly exposed to hazardous levels of radiation as a result of holding their phones in the customary manner: against their heads.
On these pages, we will list practical, effective steps that some people have taken to protect themselves from electromagnetic radiation, usually due to illnesses resulting from exposure. This will include physical shielding techniques and dietary approaches that are part of new medical research findings in prevention of cancers, and other diseases that seem to be related to exposures. Although each case is individual and there are no universally effective ‘fixes,’ we hope these stories and information will provide options to thinking constructively..
