An April 1981 NASA study, titled "Electromagnetic Field Interactions with the Human Body: Observed Effects and Theories," was clear about the damage that EMF radiation caused to humans....adverse effects from EMF radiation, the report states, "Some result in death and persistent disease," with other impacts being "ventricular fibrillation and sudden infant death syndrome," "cataracts," "accelerated aging," and that electromagnetic fields "may promote cancer...." The Navy's own 1971 paper lists well over 100 negative biological effects caused by microwave and radio frequency radiations, a partial list: corneal damage, tubular degeneration of testicles, brain heating, alteration of the diameter of blood vessels, liver enlargement, sterility, altered fetal development, decreased lactation in nursing mothers, altered penal function, death, cranial nerve disorders, seizures, convulsions, depression, insomnia, hand tremors, chest pain, thrombosis, alteration in the rate of cellular division, anorexia, chromosome aberrations, tumors, altered orientation of animals, birds and fish, loss of hair, and sparking between dental fillings. Do you want an expanding world of unmuffled jets, flying an expanded array of sorties throughout the day and night, or will you take some action now to try and put some rational limits on the local growth of this particular base? Do you want to continue to trade away our environment, both as it affects humans and the natural world around us? Do you think that people will continue to come here to camp, fish and sail as the jet noise continues to increase, when they can choose to go elsewhere where it’s quieter? It’s not just about the environment, but it’s also about economic issues. Nov 28 Deadline - Please click your vote to save this UN World Heritage Site. What is at stake is not just whether the military is allowed to use protected public lands in the Pacific Northwest for its war games, but a precedent being set for them to do so across the entire country. http://petitions.moveon.org/sign/nov-28-deadline-olympia?source=s.icn.em.cp&r_by=4891122
NEW SANTA FE COUNTY CODE ALLOWS CELL TOWERS WITH NO APPLICATIONS, NO SETBACKS NO LAWS RULING CONSTRUCTION OR LIABILITY and AGAINST FEDERAL LAWS
PLEASE TAKE 5 MINUTES TO SAVE LIVES AND PROPERTY IN SANTA FE -In the US, every year 12 cell towers fall and 4 cell towers erupt into flames -Who will pay for the damages? This new Code also targets rural NM, forcing industrial use in our rural residential communities. 100% of all acequia lands are targeted for “mixed use” like strip malls and industry. This is NOT our tradition or why we choose to live in Northern New Mexico.
FOR VIDEO: http://youtu.be/lBTBoMuLTkQ On Friday, February 22, despite the swirling snow and wintry winds, approximately fifty plus parents, their children, and neighbors took up picket signs outside the Burger King, next to their children's Gonzales Community School, protesting a cell tower planned by AT&T. As their petition states, not only could a cell tower explode or fall into the three gas pumps located at the Burger King, but a narrow arroyo filled with dry trees and brush is all that separates the land owned by Tom McCullum from the Gonzales School campus. Channel 7 ABC arrived with cameras rolling and interviewed four neighborhood parents and protestors. DID ANY FOOTAGE MAKE IT ONTO CHANNEL 7 NEWS? No, and not surprising as most media coverage seems strangely silent. The New Mexican mustered a 2 1/2 inch photograph and two sentences about the picket, featured on page 10A.
Representative of Crookfur primary parent council Ailsa Connelly told The Extra: ““We’re against the close proximity to the school, and the fact that it’s not in keeping with the surrounding area." While mum-of-two Ailsa — a lecturer practitioner at Glasgow Caledonian University and the Victoria Infirmary — has concerns about the health aspect, she added: “Really, it’s just about raising awareness of the innappropriateness of the proposal.”
At its March 19 meeting, the Santa Fe School Board unanimously approved a resolution opposing plans to site a cellphone tower next to Gonzales Community School. At least one board member, Steven Carrillo, said he was unconvinced until he heard community members speak at the meeting. Federal telecommunications laws favor the industry, leaving local communities with few avenues for challenging tower placement and proliferation. Tuesday’s resolution was directed to the Santa Fe Historic Review Board. Because the proposed tower site is within the city’s historic district, the review board can nix the plan on “esthetic” grounds.
POLICE ESCORT TO INSTALL ELECTRIC METERS? This begs the question, why would the city need to request police escort to install a meter that is so beneficial for you? They refuse them because they can. Supported by the U.S. Energy Policy Act of 2005, ratepayers do not have to accept a smart meter on their homes if they do not want one.
1. Mandate the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) revisit its exposure guidelines for radiofrequency radiation (RF) immediately. 2. Repeal Section 704 of the Telecommunications Act of 1996, which took away the rights of state and local governments to stop the erection of cell towers and wireless antennas in their communities based on "environmental" grounds (defined by FCC as "human health"). 3. Declare a national moratorium on further wireless infrastructure build-out, including the Wi-Max roll-out currently underway, a joint venture of Sprint, Time Warner Cable, Google, Clearwire and others. 4. Establish cell phone and wireless-free neighborhoods, transportation options, government buildings, and public spaces; require employers to establish wireless free zones.
