Do you want an expanding world of unmuffled jets, flying an expanded array of sorties throughout the day and night, or will you take some action now to try and put some rational limits on the local growth of this particular base? Do you want to continue to trade away our environment, both as it affects humans and the natural world around us? Do you think that people will continue to come here to camp, fish and sail as the jet noise continues to increase, when they can choose to go elsewhere where it’s quieter? It’s not just about the environment, but it’s also about economic issues. WASHINGTON -- More and more cellphone towers are going up on the grounds of schools, but a new group has formed to fight the trend in the D.C. region. Citizens, homeowners and parents from Montgomery, Prince George's, Anne Arundel and Baltimore counties have formed a group called the Maryland Coalition Against Cell Towers on Schools. They want all cellphone tower construction on school grounds in the state to stop immediately.
"Sustained exposure to ultraviolet light wavelengths from CFLs increases the risk of two seriously debilitating eye conditions, macular degeneration and cataracts," the professor claims.
After removing several antennas from the heart of the neighborhoods, the business owners agreed to put them in the industrial zone. The residents fight them too. A resident said: "We live close to the industrial zone. I know 13 cancer patients only from the last year and all of them live in the neighborhoods near the industrial zone. Two of them died. We fight to remove the antennas from the city."
A scholarly article on cell phone safety published online in the journal Electromagnetic Biology and Medicine reported the finding that cell phones used in the shirt or pants pocket exceed the U.S. Federal Communications Commission (FCC) exposure guidelines and that children absorb twice as much microwave radiation from phones as do adults.
Dr Roger Coghill, who sits on a Government advisory committee on mobile radiation, has discovered that all 22 youngsters who have killed themselves in Bridgend, South Wales, over the past 18 months lived far closer than average to a mast. Research shows young people’s brains are more susceptible to radio wave energy. Only two weeks ago a report identified mobiles as having an effect on sleep patterns. Dr Coghill added: “What seems to be happening is that the electrical energy is having an effect on the chemistry of the brain, depleting serotonin levels. We know that in depression serotonin levels are low and that a standard treatment for depression is to give drugs to boost serotonin levels. As they begin to work, the patient’s depression lifts.”
Medical Info Convinces Oregon Utility Board to Votes for “Opt-In” on Smart Meters, No fines for saying “No thanks!”
Only customers who say they want the new so-called smart meters will get them....Those who worry about the health effects of smart meter transmissions won’t have to do anything to avoid unwanted exposure. Those who fear that smart meters will lead to a loss of privacy can keep the meters they have now. VIDEO of medical presentation.
On what basis did the opposition develop their anti-wi-fi argument? “On certain scientific research as well as policy developments,” replies Patrick Hermann. “To be brief, at the scientific level, apparently, waves from wi-fi are of the micro-wave type. And even if their intensity is relatively low, their impact is significant. Waves penetrate several centimeters into the human body.” He adds that the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) of WHO has classified electromagnetic radiofrequency fields as possibly carcinogenic for humans, on the basis of an increased risk of glioma, a type of malignant brain cancer, associated with use of mobile phones.
We love our cell phones and the selection between different models has never been bigger. But the production of phones has a dark, bloody side....He gets access to Congo’s largest tin-mine, which is being controlled by different armed groups, and where children work for days in narrow mine tunnels to dig out the minerals that end up in our phones.
Do we need more research? Video: Martin Blank, PhD Special Lecturer and Retired Assoc. Professor, Columbia University
VIDEO: While some may claim we 'need more research' and want the epidemiological, long-term impacts known before taking a precautionary stance, Dr. Blank says the harm from RF/microwave radiation is already clear by looking at the cellular and molecular effects, including DNA. Society can not afford to take the risks of waiting, as while DNA has some ability to repair itself initially, after a certain point it is permanently beyond repair.
